We have a functioning VM Pro 3.2 running on Windows server 2003 (32 bit). I'm trying to retire all our old, unsupported servers and wanted to install VM Pro 3.2 on a new server. We have licensing for Server 2012 R2 (64 bit) so I'd like to install it on that. Does anyone know if it's possible? My IPO is a 412, also running version 3.2. It's run fine for over a decade so I haven't bothered to do any updates.

I will be holding off on the new phone system for a bit. In the meantime, I'd like to readdress the original question. Is it possible to have VM Pro 3.2 (65) on a Windows 2012R2 server? I know the software is very old and I should upgrade the entire system, but that would also require me to upgrade two other sites that have SCN as well. Huge time investment that I don't have right now.
Thanks again,

Doubt it. I'd never try because that's silly. You could always install it and see if it works..

No, VM Pro 3.2 will NOT work on a Windows R2erver.
That is the bad news, the good news is that you can install VM Pro 6.0 on a Windows 2012R2 server AND it will work on your IP Office 3.2 without all the new feaures in R6 though.

You are ignorant by doing that.
3.2 is eleven years old now and for software that is a lifetime. By ignoring that you risk being unreachable soon and then you have to get it running again at a higher cost.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Haha, no i am intrigrant and i don't care if the brought solution is the best. I just answered the question.
Today i re-programmed a call flow on a IP Office 403 with VM Pro.
I know upgrading is the best solution but the customer already bought a new full VoIP system from us only their new buikding has a delay of six months due to construction problems (Airport Eindhoven).

It wasn't too you intrigrant. And yes sometimes you need to do it. It is about customers unwilling to invest sometimes.

I am sure I had VMP2.1 working on windows server 2012R2 as a test.

As you have a 412 I assume you have a serial dongle attached direct so don't have to worry about this on the server.

IPOHead
we had a customer who put VMPro V4.2 onto a virtual 20012R2 server & had lots of strange problems so i would not recommend it.
Windows 7 Pro should be useable

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
