We have a few users that use their visual voicemail (9608G phones) and leave the screen idle after checking voicemails. This leaves an active call to the VMPro taking up a voicemail port. We currently have 6 VM ports and I have only ever seen one alert that all were in use. This is a new system at our company and this issue has not become a problem as of yet, but I can see how it could become one. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if anyone has any suggestions on a software based solution as the easiest solution I can think of is to simply tell the employees not to let their phones hang in that state (although you can only lead a horse to water). My original thought was to adjust the 46xx settings for home idle time, however I don't think that this setting applies to the 9608G phones and if it does I am not sure the phones state is actually idle since there is an active connection to the VMPro. Just looking for some suggestions. I apologize in advance is this is a dumb question, but I am unfortunately a n00b.
