When a message is transferred to an extention, after numberous rings, the voice mail does not pick up and it bounces back to the phone where the call was transferred.

I attempted to change the number of rings that each extentions voice mail picks up, but this created a problem when the phone rings during business hours. Instead of the AA picking up with the proper greeting, the caller is directed into a random voice mail.

I am in a circular loop from hell here!

Please help.

Trnsfr callbk: 3 - this is how many rings you have before the call will be sent back to the transferring extension. Change this to more like 12. MRoberts

Thank you very much for responding so quickly to both of my postings. I greatly appreciate it!

First Of all the number of rings that a telephone will pick up on is dependant upon the number of rings you program the telephone to Call forward N/A in Capabilities, ie. Call Fwd N/A to Voicemail ext36, next 4 rings. once you set this up you must remember that the Auto Attendant can pick up in 4 rings as well or less not more. If there is a set in the system that is a ringing set on incoming telephone lines, has voicemail tied to it, and has Call Fwd N/A tied to it to be picked up by the voicemail Ext.36 (example), the rings can not be lower than the 4 rings.....or else you will be getting what you are experiencing. No need to mess with Delayed Ring Transfer rings.....yet it needs to be 4 as well.
