Hello I am having a issue with vlookup and am looking for some assistance.

The formula that I am currently using is as follows:

=VLOOKUP(Index!B6,G10:H17,2,FALSE)

Index!B6 = 2009

G10:H17 is as follows

2008 12/23/2007
2009 12/21/2008
2010 12/20/2009
2011 12/19/2010
2012 12/18/2011
2013 12/16/2012
2014 12/15/2013

If I understand the logic it should return 12/21/2008 but I am recieving #N/A. I have looked around and haven't been able to find an answer to my specific issue.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

That means that the value in B6 isn't found in the table.

Try this:
[tab]=Index!B6=G11

You get false, right? That's why it's not matching.

Likely causes of the LookupValue and the TableValue not matching are :
- one is a number and the other is text (formatted as text)
- one has leading/trailing spaces in the cell

[tt][blue]-John[/blue][/tt]
[tab][red]The plural of anecdote is not data[/red]
