I have a setup using IPO500v2 with AVAYA 1220 phones and Nortel 1220 phones all using same SIP firmware (04.03.09)

The phones are working on their specific VLAN and info is taken via DHCP. All the 1120 phones of make AVAYA are working fine. 1120 phones of make NORTEL do not take the VLAN info. Had a look at setting sthe phones took they are all the same apart from VLAN config. on AVAYA 1220 it says "LLDP VLAN Name", o nortel 1220 it just says "DHCP".

Anyone encoutnered this issue pls?

I could be wrong, but I didn't think the 1120/ 1140 sets did lldp. You may have to manually set vlan id in set, or look at another way of doing it.

Or, as i read the below on line help, it may be because the 1120 set uses SIP and not h323, so vlan fiedl would no twork. Looks like you may have to use the SSON field.

VLAN: Default = Not present. Software level = Release 5+.
This option is applied to H323 phones using the system for DHCP support. If set to Disabled, the L2Q value indicated to phones in the DHCP response is 2 (disabled). If set to Not Present, no L2Q value is included in the DHCP response.

· 1100 Voice VLAN Site Specific Option Number (SSON): Default = 232. Software level = 6.1
This is the SSON used for responses to 1100/1200 Series phones using the system for DHCP

In the help it says the following:

Primary Site Specific Option Number (SSON): Default = 176. Range = 128 to 254.
A site specific option number (SSON) is used as part of DHCP to request additional information. 176 is the default SSON used by 4600 Series and 5600 Series IP phones.

· Secondary Site Specific Option Number (SSON): Default = 242. Range = 128 to 254.
Similar to the primary SSON. 242 is the default SSON used by 1600 and 9600 Series IP phones requesting installation settings via DHCP.

so, an SSON of 176 is related to 4600 and 5600 phones, and an SSON on 242 is related to 1600 and 900 phones. Is there a specific SSON number for nortel 1220 phones?
