visual voice

have a fault with a v 5.0.15 ip 500 (have installed voicemail lite, although not supported on version 5) we have ticked the visual voice messgae button option, when they press it goes into the voicemail but all the writing is messed up on the screen, all other phone display settings work phone, eg feature access. Phones are 5410's and all have the same issue so system wide, anyone seen this before?

That is what happen if you do unsupported things!
Go for embedded or vmpro is you want to use voicemail on 5.0

I have seen many issues like this before, it always happens when you use unsupported software with something and also ontop of that an unsupported function even if the software itself was supported at that level

This action provides the user with a display menu for access to their mailbox. It can be used with Voicemail Pro (Intuity and IP Office modes) and Embedded Voicemail. The menu provide the user with options to listening to messages, leaving messages and managing the mailbox.

In regards to unsuppported, they used to have a 403Dt which had free voicemail lite, customers dont like paying for things which in the past they have had free as I am sure you are all aware, is a case of the sales people saying just leave it like that and hope for no issues, as we all know the issues come along!

I have set for just normally voicemail access now, failing that customer or sales will have to shell out for embedded,

I know what you mean but they never had visual voice before either so they can't miss something they never had, it they want something new they need to pat for it ;-)

DT handsets had Visual Voice long before it was introduced on the DS handsets (it was probably the biggest loss when the DT support was canned)
unfortunatly this will not work on DS handsets with VCM Lite. Vm lite has not been developed for years - it is still at V2.1!

i cant really see how voicemail lite doesnt function with it, bit of avaya tampering here me thinks to force you down an embedded or pro route!

Most small IP systems sub 20 user level give voice mail with the package. It is usually a basic mail similar to an embedded mail. One manufacturer is Allworx, and i think vertical has a small SIP system that they are marketing to Very small business that also includes voice mail.

IP Office is not targeted to the very small market.

VM Lite is not supprted anymore but it still works, visual voice have never and will never work with VM Lite.
