I'm running Visual Studio .Net Academic version. I was able to install the program on my PC. Now I want to move the installation to a new PC that I have. I've uninstalled the application from the control panel. After installed the application I am unable to activate the installation. Does anyone know how I can deactivate or completely uninstall the previous Visual Studio Installation so I can move it and activate into another PC? If this is the wrong forum please let me know where I can get some information on deactiavting the installation.

Thanks in Advance,
BK

After installed the application I am unable to activate the installation
How did you activate it on the original PC? It doesn't matter that it is installed on another PC (apart from the licensing issues the software doesn't know that it is installed elsewhere).

ca8msm,
I activated the Installation from the Web. After I completed the installation. I was "Forced" to activate the application by either web or telephone. Now when I try to use the application I get a prompt stating that I need to activate the Visual Studio .Net Acedemic application either via web or phone. I've tried both still I get a error stating that the license has reached its limit. But I've unistalled the app from the other PC.

I would suggest that you contact the services centre by telephone then (there should be a telephone number provided when you select activate by phone). You will have to ask them why the "license has reached its limit".

Hi,

Just wondering if you had found any kind of solution as I'm having exactly the same problem

Thanks,

Lija,
I'm still having this issues. I'm still searching for the right party to call. The number on the box is for the activatoin line. Once I talk to someone they refer me to an another tech support line which there is some type of fee for help. I haven't paid yet for help. If I get a number of somebody that can help me out for free I'll post it on this thread.

Hi,

I found out how you can do this.
On your new installation click the activate by phone then go through all the pages until there comes up a phone number to call. The number I called was in the UK, there I had to put in a whole series of numbers before being able to speak to someone to whom I just said that I wanted to activate my product and then he gave me some numbers that I had to use as an activation key.
I can give you the number I called if you want.
