Visual Only Alert

Is there a way to make a 5610/5621 phone flash the red light with an incoming call, but not ring? A request I have had from a new customer with an IP500 system running R5 software.

I don't think you can cancel ringing (and have the light flash). You could turn the ringer down as low as you can get it.

what, so adding a ringer off button doesn't work you say. So no point in just turning on visual alerting then. Shame.

I would have to look at the 5610/20 but on the 5410/20 under options/ ring option you can have just the msg lamp light when ringing and turn off audio alerting..

I see where you can do that on the 54xx models, but the 56xx ip phones are different and I guess Avaya didn't think it was neccessary on IP Phones...

Have you tried to go to Button Programming for your user or user rights and changed the appearance to "no ring?

You can turn off the ringer and you can turn on the MWI light for incoming calls.

Whenever I turn off the ringer the light doesn't blink. I have turned it off with the appearance and even added a ringer off button and so far the MWI only will flash if the phone rings.

Seen it myself two days ago!!!

Or maybe i am going mad
What software version do you have on the ipo and on the phone ?

it works on the 4621 on my desk. i jsut turned the ringer all the way down and turned on visual alerting and it works.
