From the Visual Integrator Users Manual I found out that there is a posibility to run an import job from external application.
I found the Shortcut Command Line Example in the MAS 90 Help system but it did not help me to create a shortcut to my job.
Does anybody know how to create a shortcut to an import job?
Could somebody explain me the meaning of parts of the command line? What name of the Visual Integrator job program should I use to start my job?

Thank in advance,
Shurik.

I read documentation more carefuly and gain an understanding of some command line parameters, but I am still unable to create a valid shortcut.
Shortcuts I create either show follwoing message box:
---------------------------
MAS 90
---------------------------
A Launcher has already been started for this workstation (T101). Session=1
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
(when Launcher olready started) or simply start the Launcher
without executing the job specified in the command line

Here is the method I use to run VI externally from the desktop:
Target:
C:\Ma90W\MAS90\HOME\PVXWIN32.EXE ..\LAUNCHER\SOTA.INI ..\SOA\MAS90 -ARG VIWI00 W 0 DIRECT AUTO XXX

Start In:
C:\Ma90W\MAS90\HOME

VIWI00 - Visual Integrator identifier
XXX - Company Code in Mas90

Note: If there are spaces in the path put Quotes around it ( i think up to but not including the -ARG... part

Hope this helps

Ok, thanks
Now it works, actualy I dont understand why it did not work earlier. Not sure, it might be my "Start In" setting was incorrect,
any way, thanks for your reply.

Hi,
in addition to have a shortcut to allow external runing the VI, we are thinking about automating the whole importing process. We would like to have windows scheduled tasks to import every period of time.

The problem we have is the pop up windows that confirming the import task. such as a window that asks whether we want to check log, test, accept, or cancel the task...

I'm just wondering whether any of you guys have experience in this. thanks in advance.

TomAlford, I have used your code above with success, but I have found that regardless of what company code I specify in my command line argument, it always uses the last company that was active on the computer running the command.

What am I missing?

My application is a MS access program that coverts a BOM from Solid works, massages it, and preps it for entry into mas. The jobs in mass ODBC to that access app for the data. All is working fine, except the company code.

Any suggestions?

My Access DB is calling the Shell command to run the VI. I am Shelling to a .bat file with the following commands.

M:
CDCD MAS90\HOME
M:\MAS90 \HOME\PVXWIN32.EXE ..\LAUNCHER\SOTA.INI ..\SOA\MAS90 -ARG VIWI09 AUTO TCT

TCT being our test company. But if I change that, it still uses the last logged company.

Thanks.
