As an FYI:
One of my coworkers informed me this morning that after applying the service pack, his queries (written in VFP 6 and 7, with SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR 70) run faster than they ever have.

It would be very interesting to know if that's a one-off case, or if we might all expect a similar speed-up. I have at least one client who is postponing getting SP1 (to avoid possible incompatibilities in run-time files). If I could tell him that he can expect better performance, that would change his mind.

Maybe I'll do some tests when I get time.
