FoxPro 3 does not run on machines with more than 256 mb ram.

I can set boot.ini with a line ending “\maxmem=256”, but with this setting the machine is set with 256 mb until you re-boot and select the normal boot.

Using the FoxPro configuration files, is there a way to reduce the amount of memory FoxPro 3 sees when started on new machines with more than 256 mb ram ?

Maybe “sys(3050,1,256000000)”, but how to set up so it only reduces the ram while using FoxPro and restores it when FoxPro is exited ?

Thanks for Help,

I'm afraid you can't.

You may set up a virtual machine limited to 256mb.

Bye, Olaf.

Visual FoxPro 3.0 was Microsoft's first try at a Windows FoxPro from the ground up. It was quickly updated to version 5, 6, 7, 8, and version 9 (now with service pack 2) came out a couple years ago. If you are going to do any serious programming in VFP, you really need to use one of the later versions.
