I have a problem opening a visual dbase7 file in Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel cant recognize this file format of dbase7. It has probably something to do with de BDE or ODBC Administrator and how thes are confugured under Windows. Can anyone help me with this problem. ThanX !!!

why don't you try moving the records from the dbase to a text file or a comma delimited text file using delphi and then read it in excel

I use the batchmove in Delphi. The batchmove moves the data from an Oracle database to a temporary table. Then I move it from the temptable into DBF paradox or textfiles ASCII.
If i use a textfile when I make the export from my app there is no seperation in it and so I cant open it the right way in Excel.

Well you can separate data by adding a comma to the end of each field, for comma delimited files or you can insert a tab character to the end of each field

How can i add a character to a temptable integer field?

tblTemp.Fields[i+1].asinteger := cdsUploadBron.fieldbyname('inruil').asinteger

tblTemp.Fields[i+1].asinteger := cdsUploadBron.fieldbyname('inruil').asinteger + ';'

This doesnt work are there alternatives ? Or workarounds ?
