Hi there!
I've been running Vdb 5.5 happily for 3 years in Windows 95 and 98. Installed 5.5 on Windows 2000 OS and can't open. Upgraded to 5.7 and same problem.
The message is: "DBASEWIN caused an access violation in ntdll.dll at <address>." (ver 5.5 and 5.7 give slightly different addresses).

Will appreciate any suggestions.

Oh, I installed Service Pack 4 for Windows 2000 to no avail.

Thanks, Aaarrg !

Remove any dBase and/or IDAPI segments from the autoexec.nt and/or autoexec.bat

Delete the complete directory where you installed VdB.

Restart the machine.

install 5.5 (do not open it though).

update to 5.7

update the 16-bit BDE to 2.52

make sure the shortcut for VdB has the 'use in own memory space' selected.

make sure local share is set to true on the system tab of the BDE.

open VdB 5.7.
