Does anyone know the differences between these two MS CE development tools?
Did the 'Embedded Tools for CE' replace the 'VB6 CE toolkit'? Would hate to spend the $199 for the CE toolkit for VB6 if the Embedded Tools would work since it's a free download. Thanks for any guidence.

First excuse me for bad English - my native language is Russian.
I don't understand this too! Now a work with MS embedded Visual Tools 3.0 for CE (C++) and already found several bugs.
In my opinion Microsoft is hurry very match with this product(even make it free). In fact this is cripple VC++ 6.
There are many inconsistent things. I don't try previous product(VC++ toolkit - is this add-in for VS 6.0?).
If anybody work with it - to share one's impressions, please
Thanks

Why don't you just download the free one and try it out. If it is what you need, then great. If not, go out and buy Platform Builder.

well i worked with the SDK for visual C++ 6.0 the emulation is bad, it never works. and beside u have to dig in the help files to find the Wince implementatin for a class.
the embedded vc++ or vb is stand alone IDE just for winCe its better to program with it. but... (of course there is a but..)
i m unable to create activex controls with it, well i can but u need to create the same control using win32 (regular vc++ 6.0), to be register on the desktop, i did that but its still doesn't work...bottom line..microsoft "upsets me" big time !!!!

i just hope one of their representative is reading these messages !!!
