Hi
Is there a way to globally set Visual alerting against all phones using IP Office Manager?

Can only find the option via the phone itself, which isn't workable..

Press Select to select Options & Settings > Call Settings > Visual Alerting

So basically when the phone rings, the user wants the red light in top right to flash too.

We have 9608 handsets

thanks

Not exactly what your looking for but you can use a group button. Have an incoming call group that rings everyone you want to ring. The phones that don't ring get a group button that will light up with an incoming call but not ring. It won't light the MWI light and you won't see callerID till connect however.

Sorry, but other than a group button (which I suspect you/they wont like), it's the only way :)

which isn't workable..

and just why is it not workable, it only needs to be done once, when the phone is installed (issue an instruction to all users & if they don't follow it that is their decision).

It may be worth checking the user shortcodes many of these settings are stored in the *DCP shortcode & are undocumented (compare a phone with the setting to one without.)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Sure there is. SoftConsole on Server edition you can have 32 simultaneous users across the solution. You'll see the agent light up in the BLF field.
Dial the short code to direct call pick up from your directory.

Gunpoint 132 and Bush.Cover's code three

That's hardly a solution for handsets, sounds like Avaya's "solution" they used for every GRIP request I raised to justify not needing a message pop up saying a user was busy...we know how that ended....only took many years :)

Just got the user's to manually do this via the handsets.

Had a few of them complaining about repetitive strain injury after lol.
