Just a quick question,

My boss is getting a new laptop and would prefer to go with Vista.

I'm just wondering if this will be fine to join to a domain with Win2k Domain Controllers?

Apologies if this is a silly question...i've googled and can't find the answer and i've no experience with Vista as of yet.

Thanks!

Get the Vista Business edition or Ultimate edition and you should be fine adding it to a domain. I've added a Vista machine to a 2003 domain with no problems so I think you should be ok.

Cheers

its fine fine for a win2k domain just dont put enterprise into a laptop evry 6 months enterprise has to be reactivated just in case a business laptop gets stolen it will eventually stop working. but if you go with enterprise on a laptop you cun get like 10 activations for your reseller so that if this is a mobile user and cant access i think its an sdk server well if he cant access the server on the road he has the activation keys with him so he doesnt get locked of of his laptop

Thanks for the replies.

As far as I know it will be Vista Business.

So will this need to be re-activated every 6 months? I can't see how thats going to be a useful feature...
