Hi,
We have tried the advice we have seen and get connectivity with either, we can read but not write to the SCO server. Any suggestions or does anyone have a compiled version for SCO Open Server Enterprise 5.X of SAMBA 3.0.24 with the 5 VISTA patches?
Thanks,
Tom

Question: are you trying to access shares on the Sco box from a pc using the Vista OS?

You can read but not write?

Since VisionFS is an orphan product, are you going to move to SAMBA?

Then, what is the future of SCO? Do we all move to Linux or join the dark side of the force?

This problem will hit all us old SCO users!

Yes, Yes. We run VisionFS and SAMBA...both worked well. We would be happy to get either one working with Vista as this has totally disrupted operations on this server. I concur that many SCO sites will need a resolution to this if any connected workstation migrates to Vista or is replaced with a new Vista pc. The problem is in Vista/Office 2007 as we tried to add a W2K server as a temporary work-around for a file server and Office 2007 in Vista did pretty much the same behavior as VisionFS and SAMBA.

simple ... don't use vista since it is the product that is/has broken things. tell your vendor that you have to have an equivalent WORKING product.

Its just a security setting, all we need to do is find it, the problem is that vista has the same exact security setting in fourty different places so you have to disable them all. have you tried installing the printer in scoadmin as if it were on a print server? you might have better success with that
