Visio display of Tip Messages 1

Hi,

I would like to create a button in my Visio Diagram which would be located within any of the shapes (typically representing an App/database or process flow) which, when clicked by the user, displays pre-defined description in the form of a Tool tip.

I know that you can use the Insert Shape screen tip function, however the time taken for the msg box to display when hovering over takes too long (not sure if you can advise about reducing this either), & the main problem is the text displayed in the box is restricted & I don't want the user to have to go through a right click process to get display the full data.

Would prefer a button which when hovered over, the mouse pointer changes to the finger pointer style.

Also, would like the button to look like the one in Excel, where it has a 3-d look to it and when you click it it actually gets depressed......couldn't see anything like this in the searches in Visio itself.

Here's a long shot....if the button could pop-up while the mouse pointer is hovering above the shape (& have the functions above) this would be fantastic.

Hope I havn't asked for too much ...Any help on this is much appreciated.

Have you considered adding the information to a layer and control visibility by changing the visibility of the layer?
