I installed Vscan 8.0i, then put anti-spyware 8.0 on top, but I can't see any difference in the choices available after the spyware install. All it did was check boxes under 'Unwanted Programs' that were already there, just not checked. Have I wasted money buying the anti-spyware or am I missing something? Thanks!

I don't have the antispyware add-on but I do believe that's all you're going to see. I don't thing it changes anything except how it treats the spyware/adware.

Absolutely correct you will see at the end of a scan it checking the registry and deleting cookies.
It works really well.

you'll also have some added features in the on-demand scan area, were you can specify what you would like to scan cookies and memory.

I think the only difference between the anti-spyware plugin and the default unwanted programs is the amount of spyware it checks for.
for example, say the anti spyware checked for say 10000 instances of spyware, the default unwanted programs wopuld only check 1000.
I think it's been put in to give you a flavour of it, and to make you spend mroe money (

Yes the anti-spyware module detects more than what is built into 8.0i. The spyware module detects 5,000 apps and 21,000 files.

I am having a problem with antispyware quarantining a file(s) that we need for a certain application to work. where or how would I exclude this file fron scanning? we do use ePO 3.5 and agents.

thanx
Dave

in the policy for the virus scan enterprise (version number goes here) within epo you'll need to set the exclusions from within the Unwanted programs option, if that makes sense.

you'll have to excuse me, 2 hours sleep in 2 days!
