Hi

Some of our users have decided that they dont want to have the viurus scan console running????? this causes us a problem in that updates to their software do not take place. My question is this: Is there a way of ensuring the virus scan console loads at startup via a logon script? I have checked through the registry and tested changing obvious keys but to no avail.

Thanks in advance
Andy

You can do it, you can also make it not show in the task tray! but can't remember how so not a lot of use really

Launch the VirusScan applet from the Control panel.
Select the "Components" tab.
There is check box to de/select "Load on startup" for the VirusScan console

That is incorrect. That will NOT LOAD VIRUSSCAN, not just the console.

To do this, there's an option in the console under View/Show System Tray Icon. I believe you can have this automatically unchecked using the Installation Designer.

... take my advice, I don't use it anyway!
