I am running EPO 3.01 and deploying Virus Scan 7.1

After Virus Scan 7.1 installed on a SQL 2000 Server it will not stop scanning the SQL database. Has anyone else
run into this problem?

As long as you have information being written into or being read from the database, VirusScan is going to scan it. That's what it is supposed to do. Now you can exclude your database from being scanned and VS won't scan it. But unless you exclude it, it will be scanned.

On our SQL servers, we disable 1) backup* (read/write) & 2) mssql* (read/write) from VS7 on-access scanning. This was based on feedback from our DBAs & cured any performance issues.

Thanks to both of you. I will try your suggestions
