when i click on update virus protection files it appears an ftp site error ! where i can configure my connection on backup exec?
what's the problem?

Did you make sure all your IP setting are correct? You have to be able to browse the internet from your backup server inorder to reach the virus update ftp site.

Dont use the Virus Checking option, it is useless and time consuming.

It does not do anything to a virus that might be found. Leave the virus checking to your virus software.

What can i do for that ?
a message come back all the time. telling me to update my virus definitons ON backup exec.

I go to the site and download my virus updates manually as we need to use ftp in PSV mode due to our firewall. While you can set Internet exporer to use PSV your error is likely because BackupExec does not use that. Anyone out there tell me how to get BackupExec to use that mode for it's ftp sessions?

Hi,

Just go to tools, options. On the backup tab at the bottom it has virus protection tick box. Untick it.
