Problem started a couple of days ago. When I log onto my XP machine everything works fine. If another account is used to logon (Computer Administrator or Limited) get the following error:
Vshield error
Virus data files are missing
Unable to scan downloaded file
Checking the properties of Viruscan results in:
Virus definitions version 0.0.0
Virus definitions created 12/31/1969
The Task Manager indicates EXPLORER.EXE is running at 100%, so of course the machine is extremely slow. If you try to run any application or log the user out, you get in this loop with the above Vshield error and you have to click OK then you get the message:
Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Then one of those Microsoft "send or don't send problem report" messages pops up, then the cycle is repeated. The only way I can log the user off is through Task Manager, under the Users tab.
At first I thought it might be a permissions problem or path problem, but like I said it works fine for me but not other administrator accounts.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
