Hey Everyone,

I currently look after all the images at work and have been meaning to look for a while to see what use I can make of virtual pc to do this.
If I create an image and test it on virtual pc, and it all works, can this then be transferred to a physical disk? I have tried to find an answer but cant.

Thanks

Virtual PC can't do this but VMWare can I think. I know they offer a tool called the VMWare Converter that lets you do it the other way, i.e. make a virtual image of a real machine.

I would think you could image the virtual machine then just restore the image to a psychical box.

This not possible because of the format supported on a physical HD, not to mention NTFS and partitioning.

VMware VM's and even Microsofts VHD format of VMs act in this same manner.

The VM resides in memory and the information or file contents are stored in memory.

You need Sysprep, or Norton Ghost to handle your image tranfers to any other physical device
