WE HAVE A SMALL NETWORK ( SERVER & 10 WORKSTATIONS ). IT FREEZES UP QUITE OFTEN. THE ONLY ERROR MESSAGE WE GET IS THAT WE ARE LOW ON VIRTUAL MEMORY. CAN ANYONE HELP ON WHAT THE SETTINGS SHOULD BE. THANKS

Hi
Increase your pagefile size. If you have more than 1 HD add another pagefile on the second drive as well.

NT creates a pagefile physical RAM 12meg by default. If you have the HD space go at least double your physical RAM.

Hope this Helps

Run Task Manager, see what your physical memory is and what your pagefile size is set at.
check if you still have enough disk space on where the pagefile resides.

If you have a second hard drive move the pagefile off the c: drive and onto the other drive. Having the pagefile on the c: drive tends to slow the operating system when the pagefile is in use. Also when setting the pagefile size you must choose a min and max size. If your server is running slow you should set the min and max size to the same value. This prevents system resources being used as the amount of the pagefile being used shrinks and expands.
