On a few XP Pro machines (one with SP1, several with SP2), I am getting "Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low" errors on my nightly scans. (Event log message shown below)

These boxes all have around 512M of RAM, paging file set to 700MB.

This all started about a month ago. Changing the scan to NOT scan inside archives makes the message go away. I was wondering if anyone else out there has seen this?

Hey,

Increase the paging file size, when it expands, driver.cab, it will pull al the file into ram and Virtual mem.

See how that goes.

bpinning,

Thanks for your suggestion.

I tried various settings changes, but this message began out of the blue on 5 or 6 machines that have reasonable amounts of RAM (512M was the smallest). As I wasn't going to start changing virtual memory settings changes on these and potentially more machines, I contacted AVG support. At the time they said no one had complained of this, and asked me to try various things which I did until I got too busy.

So I lived with it until Sep 7, when the messages just disappeared. I asked AVG support if they found a problem and fixed it, and they said they made changes in versions 405 and 406 that "could affect" my problem.

Hey,

Sounds to me that they have had the problem before....

Good to see that its gone,

Brett
