Hi, I've started hosting a few sites through name virtual hosting on my server, and the Virtual host section in my httpd.conf file is starting to get quite big. Is there a way to have the virtual host info in another file and specify Apache to look for the file? I guess it would be sorta like the server side include tag in a web page.
Any ideas? Thanx

Use the include option for a separate file.

I don't think NoStRo understood the question.
I have never heard of a way. The best thing to do is to Just divide sections with comment code. I too wish there was a way to include seperate files (kinda like DNS files, huh?).

Hope this Helps!!

Hi Spinkick,

you can give each virtual host its own config file by mapping to it. Rather than rewrite it all here I can give you the url so you can read it yourself. If I understand your question correctly, you should be able to find what you are looking for here: .

Good luck :)

I would remove all the #explanations from httpd.conf that you don't really need -- maybe save a backup if you ever wonder what was in there.

I tried writing a script in cold fusion to write to httpd.conf, but I'm having problems with it right now -- could anyone help me there?
