When I bought my Merlin the sales guy said I could do Virtual Extensions (i.e. assign a bogus extension like 123 that goes to a cell or something) but I do not see a way to do that. I know how to setup outcalling to a cell now (thanks to this forum!) but do not see how to setup a virtual extension.

Thanks!

A "virtual" extention could be any unused adjunct extention in your system. Every MLX and 4400 series phone has an "adjunct" extention number as well as it's normal extention number. You can renumber the adjunct extention to fit better with your dial plan - and you can program the adjunct buttons - just like any phone. A very common use for an adjunct is to setup automatic forwarding to a cellphone or pager or whatever.

Ok, so for example I have an ext 10 and an ext 710 for the adjunct. Then I program 710 to forward to a cell. I'll see if I can figure it out :) Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll post back to this thread if I have any problems....

Yes - that is exactly what you would do.
