virtual directory to point to specific file 1

I want

http://www.mysite.com/thisplace

to point to a physical file path of

c:/inetpub/

http://wwwroot/mysite/somesubfolder/thisfile.asp

on the server

can I do this using virtual directories, or is it a redirection - if neither, then what is the concept as hunting around IIS it isn't obvious to me.

Make the virtual directory thisplace point to c:/inetpub/

http://wwwroot/mysite/somesubfolder

and make the default file to open for this virtual directory the thisfile.asp file.
