We have a Viking HA-3w newly instaled for talk back paging. The paging and talk back feature works great. This is on a trunk port.
We find that we have to press a touch tone to activate paging to the speaker. What should we adjust on the trunk port to get paging to work with just a push of the line key / trunk port?

Reading the instructions you shouldn't need to push a TT button to get it to work. What you can do is create a shortcode that dials a single digit to the line group and put that on a button. Or you can attempt to adjust the Viking according to the instructions...

2. Test talk-back to be sure that the HF-3W will switch between paging and talk-back for your desired operating distance and noise level.
3. Adjust the Talk Back Volume control as necessary for your environment. The louder the background noise level, the more you may have to decrease the Talk Back Volume and the shorter your talk-back distance will be.

Thanks. I made a shortcode, I wasn't sure if the line needed some configuration adjustment. On their old partner system, nothing else needed.

Its been a while and i havent tried this in s long time but i think adding a prefix to the trunk settings also does this for you.

Ok, I like that. I will try that too.

Well... I haven't used this Viking part before... But it is a VOX circuit. If the audio doesn't open when you go off hook it means the Viking unit isn't seeing enough signal from the phone to switch to talk mode. There is a chance you could adjust the transmit volume on the line. The D->A setting on the line would up the audio level but may cause other problems.

How about this?

On the Analog Trunk that you're connecting to, on the Analogue Options tab, set the Await Dial Tone (ms) setting from 3000 to 0

I had a doorphone that would not patch through audio unless a button was pushed. It may be something that is normal on the IPO.
The system I am referring to is R9.1 and teh Combo card is a V1

The talk back capability of this unit is outstanding. 40 feet away from the speaker and we can hear talk back.

Good to know, that way we can at least recommend one if we need one.
Even though in the last 40 years I work in this business, I only had 1 customer with talkback needs.
