hi,ive been lookin everywhere on ur forums for an answer but i cannot find one. Here is my problem:

i have an Ultrabrite A90F+ moniter, Asus A9250 video card with omega drivers installed on it

whenever my windows xp loads up. i get a message saying

Viewmeter
Fv
Fh
Status over

i dont know the numbers for fv or fh cuz it reboots too fast. and i cannot do anything on that computer because i cant get past the loading screen of windows xp cuz it reboots right away

does anyone have any ideas?

o yeah i also unplugged my moniter and it still did the same thing, so i dont think it is the moniter.. maybe a hardware problem? a virus?

and the thing i dont get is that while my computer is loading up. i can press the button that is on my moniter and i go to the bottom of the page (ex.V size position,contrast/brightness) and when i go to the bottom of the page it says view meter . yet it reads

Viewmeter
P02: 640x400 Vesa
Fv + 31.4khz
Fh - 59.9hz
Status: ok

but when the windows xp loads up a blank screen comes right away and reads

Viewmeter
Fv + 31.4khz
Fh - 59.9hz
Status : over

and it says nothing about PO2 .. if that means anything

and if it helps, i also had my desktop back round at 1280x1024 pixels.

And also i ran system mechanic 6 on saturday, the last thing i did and i did one of those junk item scan, and a scan for old programs, im starting to think that had something to do with it, and if it is, how can i retrieve it

And, lol i know im goin on forever but my sisters graduation pics are on that computer so, i will not be able to reformat it for a first solution, but if i have to, i will

No idea what the error is but try this:- Go into Control Panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, and untick "Automatically Restart" under System Failure. This may allow you see more info concerning the error.

ROGER - G0AOZ.

If you have System Restore enabled, try booting into VGA mode and going back to a previous state, preferably one prior to Saturday.

i cant get into VGA . i cant even get on my computer to do anything, it restarts before i can even see my desktop

:(

The ViewMeter is a function of the A90F+ monitor (I have one). It's just showing you the resolution and refresh rates of the signal you're sending to it.

If it says "Status Over", that means that the refresh rate you're trying to use is too high, and the monitor isn't going to attempt to match it.

It simply means that your refresh rate is too high. Boot up in safe mode, adjust your screen resolution to 640x480, click OK, reboot, then adjust it up to where you need it. Remember, when you "Try" a new resolution, if you don't hit OK or SPACE for 15 seconds, it reverts; so if your screen goes black, or you get a "Status Over", just wait (or press Escape) and you'll be returned back to the old resolution and refresh rate again.

Then that is totally unrelated to what you're seeing on the screen with ViewMeter.

here is what my friend told me to do

clear your bios, find the jumper for cmos and then set the jumper to the opposite 3 pins, start pc (it wont but go through the rocess) and then put the jumper back to the original position. this is called resetting your bios, then once you have reset the bios, boot the c. and now go into the bios and set your boot sequence and other misc options.

Now boot into safe mode.

go into device manager and remove video card from list (uninstall)

(you might have to boot into the minimal boot option domain host controllers or something like that)

reboot pc and let windows reset your graphics properties (your refresh rate is out of sync)

would that work?

I did a Google search for 'winsrv' and came up with this link which might help you:

There's a solution posted towards the end of the page, no idea whether it will work for you though.

If it doesn't work you could try a repair install of Windows - no re-formatting needed and you won't lose your data. Just boot from the Windows CD and you should be able to find the repair option.

I don't think your friend's solution will work if your system can't find winsrv.

I agree. Resetting your BIOS has nothing to do with the problem either.

Your easiest solution is going to be to do a "repair" of XP. Here's how.

Boot from your XP CD. (make sure you have your activation code handy, too.... )

When it asks if you want to repair using the RECOVERY CONSOLE, tell it NO.
Then it will say that it's looking for XP installations on your hard drive. It will find yours.

Then there's an option, press "enter" to install, or press "R" to repair. Choose *THAT* R, instead of the first R for the recovery console.

It will blast all of your DLL's and so forth and reinstall them, but it will leave all your documents, programs, etc. in tact.

After it is finished, you should be able to boot... but then you will need to do all of your Windows Updates again (since you just replaced all the DLL's with the original versions)
