Hi

I seem to remember in FP2000 you could view and import files that i had published. Can you do this in FP2002 if so how ?

Or how can i import a single file i've uploaded this is a database file i want to update it but to keep the data thats already on it?

Thanks

Terry

The easiest way locate the database on your computer & CNTL-C (copy). Now in FP, right click in the web & choose paste. It will ask you if you want to put the DB in a fpdb folder. And it will also ask you for aname so that FP can reference it.

You can also go to File - Import & follow the instructions there.

Thanks for replying ill try it but...

I'm not sure this is what i was looking to do i need to import only the database ( data intact ) not the whole site.

Thanks

Terry

If you want to just get the database from a remote copy of the web on a server with FP server extensions, copied into a local copy of the web on your hard drive - you could open the remote web with FrontPage and simply publish the database only down to your local copy of the web.

Let us know if you need instructions on opening a remote web and/or instructions on single page publishing with FP 2002.

Thanks Tiffany

I've been reformatting my laptop tonight so ill take a look at this tomorrow. I probably will need help on this though.
This is only a long way round of deleting records over 1 month old on the database at the moment.

Ive done the delete query I just need to work out a way way to run the query automattically once a day. ( Access2000 DB ) I think i need a macro then to re-publish the DB.

Thanks foor the advice :)
