I'm having problems viewing folders in a list on citrix. We have windows 2003 server with citrix metaframe xpa feature release 2. When you set the folders to view in a list they immediately revert to the standard (thumbnail) view as soon as you open another folder. We have tried setting the folders to view in list on servers but it doesn't replicate to end users. Any idea's as to how I can set this would be greatly appreciated.

I would try this:

On the servers
change user to install mode
set the way you want the viewing folders to be
In Folder Options click both 'Like current Folder' and 'reset all Folders'
Change user to execute mode

Might work

Oh and in the Folder views | advanced settings
You might want to untick the 'Remember each folder's view settings'

Good luck

Thanks for your help, it did work fine while logged in. But when you logout and back in again it doesn't save the 'list' view. It remembers everything else you set, just not the view mode. Any further idea's are very welcome.

Are you using mandatory profiles?
If so, you might have to change the settings in the profiles.

Another idea is to log on to the server as a standard user.
Create all necessary changes, ie. set up all list views in explorer, fading settings for menues etc...

Next, log on as administrator to the machine and and remove all current profiles.
Last, replace the C:\Documents and Users\Default User -folder with the profile one you just adjusted.

In this way all new created standard profiles will inherit the "new created" "Default User-profile" on the server.

I found this useful for a software which demanded compatibilty mode to be set, and saved, for all future log on-s to the machine.
