Video Question

I would like to produce a video introduction on my webpage, like what is on this page:

http://www.franharris.com/

When you get to that page, a video of Fran Harris walking up at the bottom left will appear.

Does anyone know if there is any software that helps with producing something like that?

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean background transparent video? First you have to shoot the subject in front of green/blue screen, then knock the background off using video editing software (this process is called "chroma keying") before encoding it to On2VP6 background transparent FLV.

Chroma keying is usually done in Final Cut Pro or After Effects. For the FLV encoding you can use Adobe Media Encoder or any other encoder available.
