Hi,

I'm new to the Forum and new to Adobe Premiere 6.0 forWindows. XP.

I just started using premiere, and began by editing some clip art and photos to the rhythm of the music. After rendering, saving, and playing in winamp, windows media player, and real player, I could not believe how badly the picture quality got. I read the help section on optimizing video output. Many of the settings were gray-ed out, locked. I optimized whatever I could, but I'm talking blurry pictures that were razor sharp at the source.

Am I missing something? I use XP, 2.4 pentium 4, NVIDIA GeForce 2MX card. I know that Premiere is a pro system, and I am not exaggerating about the deterioration in quality. Help, please...

Joe

Hi Shonabby, I'm having the same problem. I started with Premiere 6 and now have the same problem with premiere 7. What's interesting is that I have the same problem with a program called proshow. Have you gotten any help with this problem yet. If so, please let me know. I'll be checking with some other Premiere users and get back with you. Good Luck, RichyRich2

No, you are the first to respond. Where is everyone?

That's a good question. I had to use Ulead DVD Pictureshow until I figure it out. I believe it has something to do with starting image resolution and the use of transitions. When importing, if I'm correct the file size should be a little larger than necessary and then it's supposed to possible to scale the image down thereby maintaining better image quality. In the help files lookup pict file, it gives the best help I've found so far. However I have yet to figure out how to scale the image down. I'm using Premiere Pro so v6 may different. I'm going to keep searching and I'll get back with you. I believe if we both read the help files we might just come up with the answer, it's got to be there somewhere....Talk to you later. Rich
