video fades in and out

We have an AST Bravo 233 .. with an onboard ATI video chip. The PC turns on and we get video, but the signal soon goes away. It will come back, then go away. I have installed another video card and it does the same thing. Could it be the board? SH

That could be a monitor problem. Try using the monitor on another computer and see if the problem continues.
