I reinstalled windows 98 on a no name celeron166 64ram 6 gig computer. The video dispaly id set at 640 X 480 with 16 color and will not let me chage it my 256 colors are not an option. the display adapter is a standard PCI graphics adapterVGA and says it's working properly. I tried to take out the sound card and restart but didn't help.
Please can anyone tellme how to fix it the resolution and color are awful.
thanks Dia

You need to install the proper video drivers for the video card in the computer. This will allow using the full range of colors providing your video card supports them.If you can find the drivers disk for the video card, go into display and change the adapter and say have disk and point it to where the inf is.

i don't have the disk i did find a book jaton mulitimedia accererator video-87agp. i tried updating driver but said has the best one. will check the sitefor drivers any other sugestions?

i got it to load thru devise manager
thaks for all your help

Glad to hear all is well. If you can save the file to disk it would be a good idea and then you will have it in the event something happens.
