Hi All:

wonder if there is any guru here can help us answer this question:

we are setting up a branch office in Asia-Pacific region, boss want to setup a video conference, I talked to a few vendors about the equipment, they are divided on brand and technology being used, is this better with ISDN or VoIP ?
I heard it costs more with ISDN per connection, but VoIP is not mature technology to give you guaranteed quality

Which brand of video conference equipment is better, if anyone has used more than one brand, Polycom, Tangberg or PictureTel ??

Thanks

JDK

the three brands you mention are equally good for the job-
Polycom, Tandberg, PictureTel

look out for local support- you are going to need it!
ask for recommendations (users who have the equipment)

ISDN is more expensive, but you get "your" bandwidth
(i.e. reliability- that's what bosses want)

IP (Internet Protocol) connections are better than their reputation; they are quite good, if you have a good local
hookup ('broadband'), and they are getting better!

in a nutshell- you get what you pay for

good luck
