Hi

My question is about installing two Nvidia GTS 250 512 mb videos cards in SLI as apposed to one Nvidia GTX 285 1 gig card.

It is quite a bit cheaper to go with the two card option.
I'm not building this computer myself.

Would I be taking such a big his performance wise that it isn't worth it? I have't been able to find any comparison.

Mike

my opinion, seperate GPU's from SLI would probably out bench... but I wished I had the money to test

Surprise! Most loopback jacks are located conveniently behind the ear and above the leg

It really depends on what you're going to be running on that system. Most newer games and graphically intense software benefit greatly from having two cards but for general computing and older games and software one card would be a far better choice in my opinion.

Hi

Thanks for then info and link.
It definitely looks like this is a viable alternative.
especially since it is quite a bit cheaper.

This confinguration is from FNW and comes in at a price that while more costly then doing it myself, is not at all out of line with prices I found from other builders including Dell.

Thanks again everyone, for the help...your'e advice and links you supplied really added to the decisions I made in coming up with this.

I know someone is going to say "Why don't you build it yourself" but I just don't have the guts to do it.

If anyone has and last minute comments I still open to suggestions.

Build it yourself! haha but seriously, you should. It gives you a great sense of accomplishment and if you follow directions, it's really not hard. Either way, you got a good system there that im sure you'll enjoy no matter who builds it. Good luck!

Build it yourself! You won't even need to look at the instructions, it's that simple these days.
