Trying to set up a PSTN link to a lab CCM4 using a VG200 router. Setting up as a MGCP gateway. I have followed the usual Cisco setup and troubleshooting documents but can't get the end-points to register on the CCM4.

VG200 settings.

Any troubleshooting tips?

Hello
I guess that you have connectivity between cisco call manager and the VG200.

The only thing that can be there is DNS settings.
Ensure that you use proper DNS servers and that name and domain on the vg200 match callmanager domain name.

Hint: to see what is going on wire run network monitor on CM server and filter packets that comming from VG200

Cheers

Did you create pots dial-peers applying them to the endpoints?

dial-peer voice 1003 pots
service mgcpapp
port 1/0/0
incoming called number .

Do a sh mgcp end.....and post the output

Dulem, don't have DNS running on the lab network.
VG200 router host name is vg200 and matched this in CM as the gateway name.
Globalchicken, don't have any dial-peers on router, thought that the Call Manager handled all with mgcp. The sh mgcp end obviously comes back with no return.

You need to associate your voice ports with the service mgcpapp. your endpoints are not being registered because the voice ports dont know they are supposed to be mgcp.

service mgcp and port are not valid entries at config-dial-peer level so pasting failing. Am I at the right level?
Router is a VG200 running
version 12.2 with settings
hostname vg200
mgcp call-agent 192.168.0.44
mgcp dtmf-relay codec all mode out-of-band
no call rsvp-sync
ccm-manager mgcp

Are you configuring a pots dial-peer and not a voip? Those should be valid config commands.
