What i see more and more advance apps do not like VIA chipset.

ie Autodesk's 3D inventor doesn't get along with Nvidia Quadro2 Pro Video, it causes all kinds of problem, or trying to use a USB 3D Nav controller.

if you looking for a systems, stay with Intel chipset
even if it is slower but at least it is more stable

Sounds like a piece of really really technical advice.
I will write off a chipset cause its not compitable with one of your programs, when it isnt even proably the hardwares fault it is the users fault who cant set anything up.

Im sure the Intel chipset doesnt work for 100% of programs out there

ya what ever
go check with autodesk

duh.... obviously some one doesn't read much about tech note, i am saying that intel chip will have better luck with most program

well Hung, it all depends on what autodesk developed the program, They have specifically made it for only Intel chipset becoz how Intel wants to monopolize like Microsoft. If you bought the software recently read the box or check it on their website. It is not because one is stable or the other. Yes VIA has one problem which they are working on, which is system will hang if you connect 4 usb devices to the system apart from that AMD is stable it all depends on the software code

VIA chipsets have a problem with PCI bandwidth, not all of it is available. I recently moved over to an ALi based board on my Athlon based audio workstation. Although I didn't appear to have any issues with the VIA chipset, the ALi chipset allows me to use more audio channels at once.

What I thought was just a memory bottleneck turned out to be more a PCI bandwidth problem, I also have more reliable USB connectivity now as well.

My old VIA based audio workstation is now my system server, only a network card and a modem on the PCI bus.

VIA are said to be working on the problem...

More or less that's what i meant, i heardly run across a problem with Intel Chipset
only one time with memory hub problem, but they recall them all anyway

The 815EP Intel Chipset i put it works beautifully with Nvidia Quadro Pro2 video card, no freezing up at all

Just a quick FYI;

I've had good, solid results from AMD chipsets.

I agree that Via's tend to be flaky.
