I have a CS1000M, Rls 4.5W with a Sig Svr and added a VGMC (SMC). The VGMC programmed fine and shows up in the Element Manager. When it boots up it will pass all the selftest per the faceplate, then show as a follower (F000), then the display will change to "M000". I could not find the faceplate code explanation for "M000" in the NTP's. The VGMC is presently not connected to the TLAN, waiting for a switch to be installed. Could that be the reason for the code? Thanks.

When a VGMC cannot see the true leader, it will presume the role of leader and you will see M:000 on the display to signify "Master" and the number of phones registered. Sometimes you may see M:024 if you have 24 phones registered to that card. In a perfect "normal" world, the display should read F:000 meaning that it is a follower and there are zero phones registered to the card.

hope this helps

Check the firmware and loadware of the VGMC card. It needs to be at the same release as the sig server. IP Line 4.5 since you are running Rls 4.5. If it is not correct it will boot up and register with the sig server, display F000 for a short period and then drop into Master mode (M000) I experienced this exact problem first hand in the lab. You can use the sig server to ftp the correct loadware and firmware into the VGMC.

pcat200 Going back to your original questions. Yes. It is droppomg to M00 because you have no T-Lan connection.

Thanks to all for the replies. I verified the VGMC is at IPL4.5.88 and is the correct firmware for the card, Ver.8.2. The Sig Server shows the card as a follower as does the VGMC cardInfoShow. I thought the VGMC would show "Lxxx" if it assumed the role of leader? As soon as MIS installs the new switch for the TLAN I will update this thread.

LXXX was on the ITG-P card. It is now as indicated by teekow
