I am Using a Win 98 Systems, how can i find my VGA memory?

VGA memory? or Video Memory?
Try typing MEM in DOS-Prompt

usually when you turn on your computer, it gives you information of the amount of ram, and in most cases the video memory.

If it doesn't then you can try this:

Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel
Double click on Display
Click on the "Adapter" TAB
Where it says "Memory Size", thats the amount of Video Memory you have

Hope one of these help

Hi Mudassar,
Thanks for the response, but there is usually no Adapter tab in Display in win 98. And if u write only MEM in Dos prompt, it tells u about teh conventional memory and RAM but not the Video memory.
I wanted to find out my VGA, whether its 2 MB or 8 MB.
As it should be 8 MB, because I bought it for 8 MB.

Thanks for Help, Perhaps you can help with another tip.

Don't remember in 98. But try system, device mgr, video, resources, and see what memory is addressed. May be able to verify more than 2mb. Ed Fair

Go to and you'll find their free download of SiSoft Sandra..a free utility that will answer ALL your questions about your system, memory, etc. etc.

When you see it, you'll wonder how you got along without it!!
