I can install windows 9x no problem but when installing a fresh copy of win 2000 with sp2 ie.formatting drive during installation, all goes well until i set the video resolution and when i reboot later it always defaults to 640x480.

Ive changed the cdrom drive, hard drive, took out the sound card and modem but still doing my head in ???

Any Ideas ????????????

You need to install the correct 2k driver for your graphics card. It sound like 2k either hasn't got one, or didn't detect the card correctly if it has.

The correct driver is installed and was by w2k itself, i also updated it with the latest w2k driver from the relevant website. I even removed it and replaced it with a differant make and installed the w2k driver for that card but still no good.

I can set the resolution no problem to what i want i.e. 1024x768 but defaults after a reboot.

Ive got fed up with it now so ive formatted it again and installed Win XP Home which works great.
