I am not a very experienced FoxPro person and I'm testing forms after converting from VFP5 to VFP8. There are checkboxes on the converted forms which now need 2 clicks of the mouse to change where before they needed just 1. I think the problem is caused by clases used in the properties of the forms but I cannot seem to change them. Some of the properties say "inheritied". Can anyone help as to whether I'm on the right track and if so how to change the properties or if it's something else causing the problem?

Jules

Jules,

This problem arises because a checkbox can in fact have three different values:

- 0 (or .F.)

- 1 (or .T.)

- anything else

The "anything else" means indeterminate. It shows up as a tick with a grey background.

If you never give a checkbox a value of anything other than .T. or .F., you should never see this setting.

Thanks Mike.

Sorry for the delay in responding...I've been away. This gives me something else to look at.

Jules

Jules,
Mike is correct. Another time when you can get the "three way" state, is when the checkbox is bound to a logical field in a database table that allows .Null. values.
