VFP7 Distribution Process 2

Hi there.
I apologize in advance for the elementary level of my post but I am a SQL DBA that (due to limited resources) has been assigned the unusual task of deploying our VFP7 application to the client. My situation is this:
We have an existing client that is currently using our application that was created in VFP6. We are now ready to re-distribute the application in VFP7. I am totally unfamiliar with this process - is there anyone out there that could (in child-like terms) define the steps that will be necessary to accomplish this? Our client does not have VFP installed on any machines. I will eventually need to distribute this VFP7 app to completely new clients as well.

Hi

1. First open the project done in VFP6 and recompile that in VFP7. (since you want to ditribute in VFP7). i.e. rebuild EXE in VFP7

2. Create a directory for distribuion build up.. say MyDir

3. Copy the EXE file to MyDir.
Copy any other excluded files(if you have).. also

4. Copy the Blank Data files in a sub directory in MyDir if required.Assuming that it is needed.

5. Use VFP7 wizard to build the distribution setup disks. YOu will b guided. Follow the instructions and create the setup disks.

You can use these distribution diks and VFP will automatcally install all required runtime files in client computer.

In VFP6 I can easily find the setup wizard under Tools/Wizards. This is not the case with my installation of VFP7 - am I missing something?

I answered my own question:
"Feature Changes since the Previous Version of Visual FoxPro
The following features from the previous version of Visual FoxPro have been removed from the product:

The Setup wizard is no longer included with the product. A Microsoft Installer based deployment tool will be available. For details, see Distributing Applications."

I reviewed "Distributing Applications" but I'm still unclear where I can find this packaging tool. Any ideas?

A limited VFP specific version of InstallShield is included on the VFP CD and must be installed separately. For more information, make sure you read "vfpdeploy.doc" in the \Technical Articles\ directory also on your VFP 7.0 Install CD.
