I hope this is in the right section, if not please be gentle with me.
Can a custom label be edited without going through the label wizard as if you are creating a new one?

Keith

I need to change all the sizes and spacings etc.
I know I cvan get to the dimensions via the label wizard but only by going through the process of selecting a table.
I wondered if the label definition could be accessed directly.

Keith

Once I have changed the sizes, I would like the actual labels to reflect the settings.
eg.
My current label is set to:-
Top Margin 1.4cm.
Left margin 0.7cm.
Label Height 3.8cm.
Label Width 6.3cm.
Space between labels 0.3cm.
Number Across 3 labels

The fields on the label are formatted to the left hand edge of the label area.
The labels print out with the first few left hand chars missing and only 2 columns across the page.
My client has made the point that VFP is useless for printing labels and from past experience I tend to agree with him.

Hence the question to check that I am using it correctly.

Keith

Keith,

The label height is simply the height of the detail band. Just drag it up or down to adjust it.

The top margin is the distance between the top of the label and the top of the first line of data. Again, drag to adjust.

The left margin, width and number of labels across the page can all be adjusted from the report's property page. Select Properties from the Report menu (or File menu, depending on the version), and you'll see the items in question.

Thanks Mike
I cannot see a 'properties' option in any of the menus.
I have access to the properties box in form designer etc. via the right mouse click but not in reports or labels.
The version is VFP6 Professional edition if that helps.

Keith

Keith,

Sorry, I didn't realise it was VFP 6.

If memory serves, in VFP 6 you use Page Setup, rather than Properties to set the width, spacing, no. across the page, and so on. Page Setup is on the File menu.

Mike
