Hi All,
I've been tasked to deliver reports to our client via CD.
They want a "clickable" report with many columns & rows, subtotals, & totals. By clickable, I mean if they click on a subtotal, another report in a different format shows on the browser.
Help! I don't know how to do this. Would someone please point me in the right direction? Time if of some essence, too. Is there any third party software that automates this type of reporting to html?
I asked this question at another site & someone said to use Cyrstal Reports - I've used CR7 & developed a main report & subreports. It looks really good & works well, but when I try to export it to html, the sub reports & the links to not export! :-(
Help, help. TIA,
~Marla

Oops - I'm using VFP6

I've done something similar, but I ended up writing a procedure that simply exported HTML based on the field contents of the table. It's rather brute-force, and requires extensive knowledge of HTML to do it. I don't think it's what you're looking for since it would take awhile to code, but it would work.

Thank you both for your suggestions

Chpicker - I don't have enough experience with html to do that considering my time constraints.

Dgrewe -
1. the dhtml amyuni driver makes my CR7 lock up repeatedly... (keeps locking up)
2. all of the other reports except the main one has a memo field on it :-(

Someone else suggested textmerge...? I'll have to do more research on that.

Shot in the dark.
Have you tried creating a txt file from the CR7 report then
automate Word to open the txt file and save it as a HTML? David W. Grewe

dgrewe - I can make the html ok, but all of the links are lost. And we're talking of hundreds of pages :-(
main page drills down to 126 different reports (18 rows x 7 subtotaled columns). Then every record in each of the secondary pages drill down again. I have a sample of the end product that it needs to work like. I'm trying to get them to accept the CR exe itself, but they really want html.
