The easiest way to export a report (or any other document) to PDF is to install a PDF printer driver. This looks just like any other printer driver. You use the application's normal Print command as usual. The main difference is that the output goes to a PDF file rather than paper.

There are dozens of such drivers available. Do a search, and you will find one.

To output to Word, the best tool I know is XFRX, from Eqeus. It can also output to PDF (without needing to install a PDF printer driver), as well as several other useful formats.

Respected Sir MikeLewis;

This is possible in my prg file , i can set printer driver programmatically

or before printing , printer dialogue on and user select as per own requirements ?

very best regards

If you uncheck "Save printer environment" in your FRX properties (Page Layout tab), the user can select the printer VFP uses via [tt]SET PRINTER TO NAME (GETPRINTER())[/tt]

Bye, Olaf.

Another point:

Make sure you use a PDF driver that allows you to set the destination for the PDF programmatically - assuming you don't want the user to see a Save As dialogue, asking them for a file name and a location for the PDF.

Almost all drivers can do that, but you might have to search the documentation to find out how to do it.

Dear Sir MikeLewis

Your point is very true , when PDF File Ready For Creation , Save As dialogue Box Appear and asking
them for a file name and a location for the PDF.

I want location of the PDF & Filename , Fix Thru Programmatically.

Kindly advice me !

Very Best Regards
Irfan Habib

That's not what VFP can do in any case. You have to use a configurable PDFF printer for that matter, BullZip PDF is one.

Yes, that's the point I was making.

It's quite likely that your PDF driver allows you to set the destination programmatically. But every driver is different. If you could tell us which driver you are using, somebody here might know the answer, otherwise you will have to look at the driver's documentation or check with the vendor.
