Have you read the news?

"Microsoft Corp. on Wednesday will announce that it is giving its Most Valued Professionals access to the more than 100 million aggregate lines of Windows source code, which includes all versions, service packs and betas of the Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 products."

Now that's some privilege!

In case you’re not aware of this, Rick has been the president of the Lansing Visual FoxPro User Group for along time, I suspect over 10 years. Long before these message boards were popular, Rick setup an e-mail list serve for the Lansing members to post questions, and they are emailed to those who signed up. The list server is still used frequently today, and it also works closely the Grand Rapids user-group.

Rick is our expert - there is no one better in Lansing. In addition, there has been no one more giving of his time and free code. He has help countless people including myself.

I could go on and on, but Rick is probably going to hit me for saying all of this because he is also very humble.

CONGRATUALTIONS RICK!

I believe there is another member of this forum that is on the MVP list. I believe that "Barbara Peisch" and "BPeisch" is one an the same person.

Hi Rick,

Who am I to say congratiolations to you to !
It's funny to see thay many of us here once started in (possibly CP/M era?) dBII.
Would be possibly nice once we all knew from where (all internationals) all of you come.
btw; It makes me happy to see that also Anders Altberg is on the list.
Without him I never got the knowledge I do have now.
Over many hundreds of short messages (since 1998) helped me to enter into the OOP world with VFP.

Well, all I can say is congratulations to all VFP MVP most especially to those members of this forum who made it to the MVP. I'm glad you made it guys. And I would also like to congratulates those tek-tips members for their countless efforts to support, though they did not make it to the VFP MVP but I know soon .

Well done. Keep on supporting this forum.

Congratulations!

Thanks to all for the kind words. I known that many future VFP MVPs will come from those that contribute here.

As my friend and fellow MVPer, Cathy P. says - "Fox Rocks!". I've always found the FoxPro community to be the most friendly and giving, and I enjoy passing along so much of what I've learned (usually the hard way :)).

Rick

Yes, Mike. I'm Barbara Peisch. (Who else could BPeisch be? [smile]) I've only joined this forum recently, and haven't posted much though. It seems ramani always beats me to it!

BPeisch

Glad you decided to join the VFP forum, your contributions to the VFP community precede you. Don't worry about beating Ramani, the trick is to wait 'till he is asleep. [sleeping2]

Hi Barbara Peisch

I'm Barbara Peisch. (Who else could BPeisch be? ) I've only joined this forum recently, and haven't posted much though. It seems ramani always beats me to it!

I never realised it. Hearty welcome. :)

ramani :)

Hi ramani,

<i>I never realized it></i>

You never realized what? That I'm Barbara Peisch or that you always answer questions before I can. If it's the latter, how do you think you got to be listed as this forum's top expert? [wink]

BPeisch

Infact both, I did not realise that you are Barbara Peisch. Now I know you are amidst us. I feel very happy that many of VFPs important people are coming here.

And I also did not realise the second part that I have been beating you in answering. That must have been just accident.[bomb]

Hi ramai,

And I also did not realise the second part that I have been beating you in answering. That must have been just accident.

I've been starting to wonder if you ever do sleep! ;-)

BTW, I'm just getting used to this interface. Do you know if it's possible for me to edit a message once I've posted it? I noticed too late on my previous message that I messed up the HTML tags.

-BP

Hi BP

The messages cannot be edited, once you press the submit button, in these threads. However, there is a preview option and at that stage, you can get back and edit as many times you want till you submit it. I am sure it is just a while away for you to get used to.

In the FAQ section, the FAQs already posted can be edited by the member who posted it.

:)

Rick,

Let me add my belated congratulations to the many you have already received (and so well deservered).

Also, it's good to see Barbara Peisch here. Barb, I hope you enjoy Tek-Tips as much as MSDevApps. I've been hanging out since January, and find it compulsive.

To answer your question, there doesn't seem to be any way of editing a message after you have posted it. To format the text in italic, etc. you need to use square brackets not angle brackets. the 'process TGML' link at the foot of the editing will tell you more.

There's not on CIS either, but I was just hoping.

BTW, notice that I have mastered (more or less) using the square brackets for the tags instead of angle brackets. (It's a hard habit to break after typing so much HTML.)

Barb,

notice that I have mastered (more or less) using the square brackets for the tags instead of angle brackets.

Yes, but the worst thing is when you go back to CIS, you will find yourself constantly typing [ignore] and [/ignore] instead of << and >>.

It would be nice if we had toolbar-based formatting, like on Ed Leafe's site.
